Apply for an Artist Role at CloudCatcher 2026

Introduction

Please read the following information and fill in the form if you are interested in applying for CloudCatcher Artist role for 2026 camp - Hekate (happening Thursday 2 - Monday 6 April 2026).

Applications are due 27 August 2024 (midnight).

Expectations and responsibilities - Camp Artist

1. Attendance and Participation: Camp Artist is expected to attend and participate in camp activities in alignment with their capabilities. Camp Artist has responsibilities that extend to well before camp and is an essential part of creating the magic of CloudCatcher.

2. Reclaiming Principles of Unity: They agree to abide by the Principles of Unity for the duration of their role. https://reclaimingcollective.wordpress.com/principles-of-unity/ 

3. Communication with orgs: They are expected to maintain clear, honest, and respectful communication with orgs around their capacity, progress, and needs. Orgs are expected to return this level of communication and to facilitate resolution processes where needed. At least two meetings with orgs to discuss progress. 

4. Feedback and leadership: After the camp concludes, Camp Artist may be asked to provide feedback on their experience and contribute to future artist scholarship processes if able to.

If applying for the full role, the following will all apply. However, if you wish to apply to only fulfill part of the role, you can specify in your application which jobs you wish to do:

1. Creation of promotional artwork: To create:

  • Promotional poster high-resolution A3 size; to include camp information with image/artwork based on the theme and story provided by orgs. 

  • Social media collateral - 5 tiles

    • Image only

    • Image with CCWC

    • Image with main camp details

  • Website - image (same image) for website 

  • Merchandise - image (same image) for merchandise (bags and shirts)

  • The orgs may request one second version or edits to existing image/s.

  • Please note this part of the role will be time-sensitive and will be undertaken soon after the application process is complete.

2. Design of affinity tokens: To design a series of affinity tokens that can be worn around camper’s necks to designate their affinity group. Examples from previous years can be provided and a list of images/symbols will be provided in a brief that has been decided on by the orgs and teacher team. 

3. Fabrication of affinity tokens: To coordinate the fabrication of tokens, including verifying that designs are appropriate for fabrication process, and carry out this process in a timely manner in consultation with orgs. Cost of materials will be covered by CloudCatcher.

4. Priestexing the Art Space: To attend to the material and spiritual needs of the art space as they arise. This includes:

  • inventory, care, and organising of camp-owned art materials, 

  • answering art space-related questions

  • coordinating with community to ensure the space is well-tended and usable. 

Application process

1. Submission of Application: Applicants must complete and submit a role application form.

2. Review and Selection: The CloudCatcher org team will review all applications and select people or teams for the two roles.

3. Notification: Successful applicants will be notified of their role and provided with additional information (such as briefs for each artist job) regarding their responsibilities and the camp schedule. Unsuccessful applicants will be notified via email. It is an expectation of applying that successful and unsuccessful applicants reply to notification either way to clarify understanding from both parties of the outcome.

4. Publication: Camp Artist and Bower Anchor will be made public on the CloudCatcher website, email list, and social media profiles. 

5. Confidentiality will be maintained by orgs and applicants around the role selection process. We request that any communication about the process be directed to orgs via ccwcorgs@gmail.com.
